King’s Heroine
Firyal Briezat , 45 years old, working at King’s Academy as a security member. She is a one of the people that I should have met before. Since I saw her, she became the most optimistic person I’ve known.  She did a lot of good things during her simple life. She proved to the world that being special does not need to make the biggest sandwich or something like that. You can be special and distinctive person in your own way.

Firyal has three sons and one daughter. She answered when I asked her about them:” they are all what I have in life.” She lives in Madaba and she was told that a new advanced school will be built here. She was so curious to see this school and work at it if possible. She requested to work here at King’s, also she did a very big effort to get here. She took many tests, trained a lot, did interviews, then passed them all. “I’m extremely happy with my job. It benefitted me a lot,” she said when I asked her about this job. Now she is a security member and she works 8 hours and goes home every day.

She supports learning and knowledge, “Education is the only weapon the human has in these days,” she said. I asked her about the happiest moment happened in life, she said: “When I saw all my kids graduating, that was my happiest moment. I felt like all my dreams came true and all things I wanted in life have been done Alhamdullah.”

I asked her about her struggles, she answered: “my struggles and concerns were about my kids’ education. I mean that I hadn’t enough money to put them in universities because the fees were so expensive. I started looking for solutions because I did not want to prevent them from learning and studying. My neighborhoods told me that I should let my only daughter marry instead of spending a lot of money on university. I was so sad, but all what I could do was to encourage my daughter to get high grades in Tawjihi. She worked hard and got high grades which qualified her to study in the university.”

Firyal was so confident and proud of herself, and I think she is worth it. She is enjoying life. Even if being a security member is hard somewhat, but she did not complain about anything here. Also, I asked Firyal about what makes her comfortable and not making her miss family, especially because she spends 8 hours here,” When I watch the sites which are exist at King’s, this makes me forget every uncomfortable thing and focusing on the beauty of King’s campus.”

Because it’s my first year and I’m a freshman here, I asked Firyal about the environment of King’s and the changes. I asked her because she has been working here a long ago and I wanted the advice. She said: “Everyone has to stay as the same he was, but if this coming change will make this person better, so let this change happen.”
No one can imagine how much comfort this lady gave me! I was so nervous that day when I talked to her. I wasn’t holding a pen and a note book, I wasn’t even recording! Every word she said was memorized in my heart. I did not write them, I just tried to feel them. I learned that everything needs patience and effort, you can’t get what you want without getting tired and exhausted. Always remember this and pray for Allah.
